Akbar, as well as his mother and other members of his family, were Sunni Hanafi Muslims. After the marriage of Akbar with Jodha Bai of Amber, he abolished the pilgrim tax. He also abolished Jiziya in 1562 CE
After Sher Shah Suri conquered malwa from Qadir shah, he appointed Shujaat Khan as the governor. His son, Baz Bahadur, declared himself independent in 1555 CE. Baz Bahadur was the last sultan of Malwa.
Ahmad Shah III was succeeded by Muhammad Shah III. He reigned for nearly 20 years. Through his extensive conquests he regained many lost territories, the most famous being his raid on Kanchipuram.
Under the Mansabdari system the mansab rank was not hereditary and the lowest rank was 10 and the highest was 5,000 for the nobles. All appointments and promotions as well as dismissals in the Mansabdari system were directly made by the emperor.
Saluva Narasimha laid the fondation of Saluva dynasty. Saluva Narasimha was the eldest son o Saluva Gunda. Saluva Gauda was the chief of Chandragiri of the Chittoor district.
