Mahagujarat movement or Mahagujarat Andolan was based around the demand of creation of separate state of Gujarat for Gujarati-speaking people from the Bombay state in 1956. The result of this movement was creation of two states on linguistic basis viz. Gujarat and Maharashtra. Indulal Yagnik was leader of this movement.
Sir William Wedderburn remained the chairman of the Indian parliamentary committee till 1900. He was also an editor of the journal “India”. In 1895, Sir William Wedderburn represented India on the Royal Commission on Indian Expenditure.
